Maruyama graduated from Keio University in 1999 to join JCB Co., Ltd. He was in charge of big data related services including risk analysis and marketing, new service development and M&A.

In 2006, he established Infcurion Group Co., Ltd. He made achievements in supporting start-up companies in areas of payment services and Fintech.
He has been developing businesses including Link Processing, a smartphone-based start-up company, finbee, an automatic money saving app, CardWave publishing, and Infcurion Digital to create a cashless society.

He established Fintech Association of Japan in 2015 and became the representative director/chairman.
